Acclaimed violinist Jonathan Crow opens the inaugural Canadian edition of the George Enescu Festival
On Saturday, September 7th, the George Enescu Festival opens its inaugural Canadian edition with “A tribute to George Enescu”, a recital featuring acclaimed Canadian violinist and Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) Concertmaster Jonathan Crow, and talented pianist and Artistic Director of the festival, Coral Solomon.
Described by the former TSO Music Director Peter Oundjian, as “incredibly versatile, a great teacher and a top-notch soloist (with) the highest musical standards”, Jonathan performs as guest concertmaster internationally and has performed as a soloist with most major Canadian orchestras. Before his TSO position, he held a record as the youngest concertmaster of any major North American orchestra during his time with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. As an avid chamber musician, Jonathan is a founding member of the JUNO award-winning New Orford String Quartet and has performed at chamber music festivals throughout North America, South America, and Europe.
