- A Long Way Chronicle - Magdalena ManeaMagdalena Manea has called Toronto home for the last twenty years. Before resettling in Canada, she served as an avid journalist in Romania and acquired a strong engineering background. Though journalism, science, and mathematics remain of interest to her, her primary love is writing, notably stories that touch the heart. Being an immigrant, herself, Magdalena is a proud advocate for diversity and an empathetic observer of cultural challenges, which all immigrants undergo. It is from this wellspring of experience that her artistry spills forth. Over time, while adjusting to a new country and culture so different to her own, she meaningfully captured those special moments in life, in short, easy-to-read read, insightful novels—encounters, ordeals, and adventures with which all may share Much of her writings are a telling fusion of cross-cultural experiences. She wrote “Foaie De Drum Lung” (A Long Way Chronicle, www.foaiededrumlung.com), a poignant journal chronicling the experiences of the Romanian ethnic community across Canada. Recently, she published her first Canadian-Romanian volumes - “De La Mine La Toronto” (From Me to Toronto), which provide snapshots of the day-to-day life, and “O Iubire Imposibila” (An impossible Love), a delicate romance battling to overcome distance and cultural background.
